The Opening Concert of the 23-24 academic year pays tribute to one of the best Spanish pianists in history, Alicia de Larrocha, whose centenary will be celebrated in 2023.

The Orquesta Sinfónica Freixenet, formed by the students of the Escuela Reina Sofía, conducted by maestro Péter Csaba and with the pianist Marta Zabaleta as soloist, will give a concert in the symphonic hall of the Auditorio Nacional de Música de Madrid, with a programme composed of works by Brahms, Mozart and Bartók.

This concert is part of the cultural programme of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Admission is free. Invitations can be downloaded from Monday 23 October.
