Alba García García

Born in Orense, Spain, in 2003. Since 2022, she studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Trumpet Chair with professor Reinhold Friedrich, assisted by Manuel Blanco. She has been granted scholarships by Inditex and Fundación Albéniz. Her Majesty Queen Sofía handed her the Diploma to the most outstanding student of her chair in the 2022-2023 academic year.

She began studying trumpet at the age of six. She completed her elementary and professional studies at the Ourense Professional Conservatory of Music with Professor Rubén Freire. Beyond her official studies, she has enhanced her education with courses and masterclasses from distinguished trumpet players and teachers, including Ole Edward Antonsen, Jonathan Müller, Eric Aubier, Otto Sauter, Kristian Steenstrup, Marcos García, José María Ortí, Raúl Miguel, Daniel Crespo, Rex Richardson, José Manuel Escobar, and José Antonio García.

In 2017, she won the first prize at the "Lucio Octavio Magio IX" trumpet competition in Astorga, Castilla León. Between 2020 and 2023, she received several accolades, including the second prize at the "XI Valeriano Machí Esparza Competition" in Benimodo, Valencia; the second prize in the solo category A and a special award for the best interpretation of works by Galician composer Mestre Vide at the "II Mestre Vide Musical Interpretation Competition" in Ourense, Galicia; and the second prize at the "Ciudad de Zamora Young Performers Competition" in Zamora, Castilla León. Additionally, she earned various awards at different editions of the "José María Ortí Soriano International Trumpet Competition" in Xixona, Valencia.

She was selected to perform a recital in the "Camiños Sonoros" concert series, a project promoting the Camino de Santiago through musical performances by young artists. She was also a semifinalist in the "Intercentros Melómano" competition, representing Galicia, and in October 2023, she reached the semifinals of the “August Everding Musikwettbewerb für Trompete” in Munich, Germany.

Currently, she is a member of the Spanish National Youth Orchestra (JONDE), the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, and the Galicia Youth Symphony Orchestra. She has collaborated with professional orchestras such as the Madrid Symphony Orchestra (resident at the Teatro Real) and the Orchestra of the Community of Madrid. Her experience includes participation in youth orchestras such as the Youth Orchestra of the Community of Madrid, Neue Philharmonie München, and the Soria Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Recently, she has received scholarships from JONDE and Ferrer Salat.

As a student of the School, she has performed with the Freixenet Orchestra, conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Péter Csaba and Sir András Schiff, and with the Sinfonietta, conducted by Zsolt Nagy. She has been part of the Fundación Mutua Madrileña Ensemble. She is currently a member of the Fanny Hensel Trio.
