Rolanda Ginkute

Rolanda Ginkute is a Lithuanian born violinist. She started to play the violin at the age of 5. In 2010 she began her studies at the Cologne University of Music and Dance in Germany. In 2015 she received a scholarship to study in Spain, in one of the most prestigious universities - the Queen Sofía College of Music under the supervision of Professor Zakhar Bron. In 2018 she finished her bachelor violin studies, as an outstanding student and in 2021 she received her master’s degree.

At the age of 5 she performed her very first concert. Two years later she won her first international violin competition in honour of Glazunov in Paris. Since then Rolanda has won numerous national and international music competitions, including the International K. Lipinski & H. Wieniawski Violin Competition, the International Pedro Bote Music Competition, the 16th International Melómano Competition and the 1st prize for violin discipline at the 28th World Music Competition. She is a laureate of Queen Martha´s Award and was granted the scholarship of Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation. For her international success Rolanda was commended by the President of the Republic of Lithuania and took a special prize from the Chairman of the Parliament. In 2018 she received a diploma from Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain.

Rolanda has been an active participant in masterclasses offered by the great soloists and teachers such as Z. Bron, M. Fried, C. Poppen, N. Prischepenko, M. Fuks, I. Petrushevski and E. Tadevosyan and others. She performed in numerous festivals such as Interlaken Classics festival in Switzerland, Vladimir Spivakov festival “Moscow receives friends”, the City of Úbeda International Music and Dance Festival, Segovia Festival and Cádiz Spanish Music Festival among others.
She played concerts in many European countries including her debuts as a soloist in Berliner Philharmony, Cologne Philharmony, Alte Oper Frankfurt, De Doelen in Rotterdam, Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Auditorio Nacional de Música and Monumental Theatre in Madrid, Kursaal Interlaken in Switzerland. Rolanda gave her recitals in Switzerland, Germany, Spain and Lithuania, many of them being filmed and recorded by the national radio and television of Lithuania and Spain. Her concert as a soloist with the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra was live broadcasted on the National Radio of Spain and shown on television “Conciertos de la 2” as well as her recital at the concert of “The Sqoloists of XXI century” in Sony Hall. As a soloist she has performed with the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra (RTVE), Oviedo Filarmonía, Extremadura Symphony Orchestra, Franz Schubert Filharmonía, Orchesta y Coro Filarmonía, Chamber Orchestra “Moscow Virtuosi”, Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, Kaunas Symphony Orchestra and Zakhar Bron Chamber Orchestra among others. Her performance with Quartet “Esferas” received the AIE recognition and a price for chamber music with a concert tour Spain wide. She is one of founders and a member of Trio Glinka and Duo GinkuteGladkov, currently offering concerts in Spain. In 2022 she made her album recording together with the pianist Vadim Gladkov for the National Radio of Spain and Orfeo foundation. Since 2019 Rolanda is a lecturer in Liceo Glinka Masterclasses in Segovia, Spain. Since 2023 she is a professor of Summer Masterclass in the Queen Sofía College of Music. Since 2024 she is a professor of violin faculty in the Qatar Music Academy in Doha, Qatar.

Rolanda has been regularly invited as a concertmaster of professional orchestras. During the season 2018-2020 she was a member and concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra Adda Simfonica. During the season 2019/2024 she was a member of the Spanish National Orchestra (ONE). From the season 2024, she has been appointed as the principal 2nd violin of Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. Among the most remarkable ones were her recent collaborations as a guest concertmaster of Spanish National Orchestra, Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, Principality of Asturias Symphony Orchestra, Oviedo Filarmonía, Extremadura Symphony Orchestra, Granada Symphony Orchestra, Franz Schubert Filharmonia, Anne-Sophie Mutter project Orchestra and Freixenet Symphony Orchestra. She also worked with Orchestra Palau de les Arts, Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Hulencourt Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Clásica Santa Cecilia. Since 2014 she is a member of Zakhar Bron Chamber Orchestra in Switzerland, which performs concert tours in prestigious venues in Europe together with great soloists of our century, including Lang Lang, Maxim Vengerov, Vadim Repin, Misha Maisky, David Geringas among others.
Rolanda had a pleasure to collaborate with some of the most distinguished conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Sir András Schiff, David Afkham, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Juanjo Mena, Jaime Martín, Pablo González, Pablo Heras-Casado among others.
