Steinberg Variations is the concert that, preceded by a presentation, serves as the opening of the exhibition “Saul Steinberg, artist”, at Fundación Juan March in Madrid, the first complete retrospective dedicated in Spain to this artist.

It is a tribute to the musical universe of Steinberg, in whose work images and sounds often dialogued. Some of his drawings revealed his condition as an amateur violinist and his fascination for tango.

Soprano Carla Isabel Gómez, tenor Daniel Domínguez and violinist Valentin Chong (Reina Sofia School students) with pianists Natalia Kuchaeva and Anna Mirakyan (Reina Sofia School teachers), will play works by Rossini and Mozart. Dancers Rebeca Núñez and Mariano Otero will dance tangos by Edgardo Donato and Carlos Gardel.
