Natalia Kuchaeva

Highlighted by critics for her “great technique, delicacy and exquisite sensibility”, the Moscow pianist Natalia Kuchaeva lives in Spain since 2009.

She studied at the School of Music affiliated with the Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky State Conservatory and at the Gnessin Academy. Later at Lucerna School of Music, Switzerland, with maestros of renowned international prestige such as Vladimir Tropp and Konstantin Lifschitz.

She has recently finished a Master’s Degree in Lied “Victoria de los Ángeles” in Barcelona’s ESMUC with honours.

She has been awarded in several international competitions such as the Anton Rubinstein Competition, France, 1998; Valencia’s José Iturbi Competition, Spain, 2006; Alexandr Scriabin de Grosetto Competition, Italy, 2008, and the Ettlingen and Pianale competitions in Germany, among others.

She has been an opera coach at Seville’s Maestranza Theatre for 10 years, collaborating in more than 40 productions with maestros such as M. Benini, R. Balsadonna, C. Rovaris, I. Abel, I. Sampil, J. Lacombe, A. Spering, J. Axelrod, I. López-Reynoso, J. M. Perez-Sierra, O. Diaz, P. Halffter, S. Serrate, J. M. Busto, and singers J. Bros, A. Mead, A. Arteta, N. Fabiola, J.P rats, P. Yende, J. J. Rodriguez, L. Nucci, M. Gantner, G. Kunde, and P. Seiffert, among others.

At the same time, she has developed an intense concert activity in series and international festivals such as Bienal de Flamenco 2020, Seville; Rafael Orozco Festival, Córdoba; Classic Autumn Festival at Belém’s Cultural Centre, Lisbon; Bösen-dorfer House in Montreux, Switzerland; Steingräber House in Bayreuth, Germany; Bari’s Petruzelli Theatre, Italy; Seville’s Teatro de la Maestranza; Tenerife’s Auditorium; Bolshoi Hall at Moscow’s Tchaikovsky Conservatory and Act City Concert Hall in Hamamatsu, Japan.

Since 2021 she is guest professor at the Galamian Academy in Málaga, where she teaches the Brainin Method: development of musical intellect.

She forms a piano duo with her husband, piano professor Jorge Lechado. Among its performances is the award ceremony of the Federico García Lorca Poetry International Award, at the Manuel de Falla Auditorium in Granada, with the presence of the then Princess of Asturias.

Since November 2022, she is accompanying pianist professor at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Fundación Ramon Areces “Alfredo Kraus” Chair.
