Ciclo Maestros
One of the main values of the Reina Sofía School of Music is to have the best faculty in the world in each specialty. The school also has an exceptional legacy of great musicians trained in its classrooms.
In this series, the public is offered the possibility of enjoying live performances by the maestros who daily share their talent and experience with our students to develop their full artistic potential, as well as by the great artists who are former students of the School, who are already internationally acclaimed figures.
Coinciding with the master classes he will give to the students of the School, Luis Fernando Pérez (himself a former student of the School), will take the stage of the School's auditorium in the company of the students of the Fundación Santander Piano Chair to offer a joint recital.
About Luis Fernando Pérez
"Each note is a word. One has to imagine and find within oneself what one wants to say and do". With these words dedicated to the work of Chopin, Luis Fernando Pérez certifies the maturity that the Franz Liszt Prize in Italy, the Enrique Granados Prize in Barcelona (Alicia de Larrocha Prize) and the Albéniz Medal had predicted for him.
Throughout his artistic career, he has been conducted, among others, by Antoni Ros-Marbà, Günter Neuhold, Kazuki Yamada, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Stefan Fraas, David Lockington, or Enrique García Asensio, and has collaborated with orchestras such as the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, Real Filharmonía de Galicia, Sinfonia Varsovia, Orquesta Sinfónica RTVE, Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa, Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra of Budapest or Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester of Mannheim.
Considered one of the greatest experts in the Spanish repertoire, his recordings, released on the Mirare label, have been dedicated to Chopin, Soler, Granados and Falla (Diapason d'or and Choc de l'année awards from Classica magazine). His latest recording for the Mirare label is entirely dedicated to the music of Rachmaninov.
