Encounter of Santander
The "Melodies of Memory" Project was carried out in the San Cristóbal neighborhood of Madrid, with the aim of bringing music and musical memories closer to the elderly in the community. Through workshops and musical activities at the Casa San Cristóbal of the Fundación Montemadrid, the project sought to connect the elderly with their musical memories, from classical works to popular songs. The project included the active participation of the elderly in singing, percussion, and dance, culminating in two concerts, one in the neighborhood and another at the Sony Auditorium of the Reina Sofía School of Music. This initiative not only promoted cultural reconciliation and community participation, but also sought to expand cultural horizons and strengthen the social fabric of the neighborhood.
The main objective was to bring the elderly of the San Cristóbal neighborhood closer to culture and their musical memories, promoting active participation in activities that enhance their inclusion.
