Cristina Regojo


 

Considered one of the best violists of the national scene, she has performed concerts in the United States, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Luxembourg, France, Portugal, Spain, among others, playing in prestigious halls such as Carnegie Hall and David Geffen Hall in New York, the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest and the Musikverein in Vienna. 


Born in Murcia, she studied at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Madrid and the ESMAR with Alan Kovacs and Laure Gaudron. In addition, she completed her master's studies at the Katarina Gurska School of Music and continued her studies at the prestigious Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía under the tutelage of Diemut Poppen. She also receives advice from Tabea Zimmermann, Joaquín Riquelme, Hartmut Rohde and Jonathan Brown. 


Granted a scholarship by the Community of Madrid in its Scholarships of Excellence in 2016 and 2017, she has been awarded the First Prize in the Young Performers Competition "Villa de Molina" in the 2016 and 2020 editions. In addition, she was selected for the Proyecto Talentos of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, participating in the concerts held at the Auditorio Nacional de Música de Madrid in 2016, 2017 and 2019. 


With a vitalist and multifaceted character, her interpretations have captivated audiences with outstanding performances in the soloist role of Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante accompanied by the Orquesta Unesco de Barcelona conducted by Gonçal Comellas. 


Chamber music also plays a fundamental role in her growth as an artist. Strongly involved in chamber music projects, her upcoming engagements include venues such as the Teatro Real, the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid and Carnegie Hall in New York. 


She is currently developing her artistic activity as assistant soloist in the Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, titular orchestra of the Teatro Real. In addition, from next season she will be teaching at the Centro Superior Internacional de Música de Extremadura.
