Thunemann begins his masterclass correcting the bassoon's rhythm for this orchestral excerpt.
The rhythmical accuracy is important, and the student must provide the correct duration for each note. Besides, articulation should be different, and he compares it with certain passage from Beethoven's 4th Symphony. After that, the student should play rallentando, and then Thunemann corrects other rhythmical issues, dynamical or about articulation.
To finish with, prof. Thunemann advises her to practice the octaves part and to study always by heart the most important parts from these types of orchestral excerpts.
