Shinyoung Lee

Born in Seoul, Korea, in 1997. Since 2024, she studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music's Fundación Banco Santander Piano Chair with professor Milana Chernyavska. She has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albéniz.

She began her piano education at the age of five. She studied at the University of Konkuk's Young Musicians Academy and at the Sunhwa Arts, being granted scholaships by the city of Seoul and the Sunhwa Piano Society. She continued her training at Munich University of Theatre and Music under the guidance of professor Antti Siirala within the Excelency in Performance programme, holding scholarships by several foundations.

She has been awarded several recognitions, including the first prize at the International Piano Competition in Campillo in 2023, the second prize at the "Cittá di Treviso" International Piano Competition and a special recognition for her performance of Estonian compositions at the Tallinn International Piano Competition, among other competitions.

She made her solo debut in 2017 with the North German Philharmonic Orchestra in Rostock and has performed at the Mariinsky Theatre and with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra.

As a student of the School, she is part of the Lili Boulanger Trio and of the Gershwin Duo.
