Ioana Tomescu

Born in Bucharest, Romania, in 2005, Ioana Tomescu graduated from the National Music College George Enescu, Bucharest, in 2023, studying clarinet under Ovidiu Caplescu. Currently a first-year student at the Sibelius Academy, she has won first prizes in national and international competitions. Ioana debuted as a soloist at 12, performing Weber’s Concertino, and has since performed with orchestras such as the Pitesti, Oradea, and Ramnicu Valcea Philharmonics, and the GE College Orchestra. Her recitals include venues like the Romanian Athenaeum and ECA Krakow. A former member of the Young Concertgebouw, Ioana has also performed with Romanian Youth Orchestras.
