David Fernández Caravaca

David Fernández Caravaca

Born in Córdoba, Spain, in 1995. Since 2024, he studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music's "Zubin Mehta" Conducting Chair with professor Nicolás Pasquet. He has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albéniz.

His success in the first edition of the Young Musicians of Spain Orchestra Conducting Competition in 2023 led to his appointment as assistant conductor of the Castilla y Leon Symphony Orchestra. He has made his debut with the Royal Orchestra of Sevilla, the Orchestra of Córdoba and the Landesjugendorchester Rheinland-Pfalz.

His artistic engagements for the coming season include his debut as conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica de RTVE.

After training with maestro Miguel Romea and studying for a Bachelor's Degree with professors Nicolas Pasquet and Ekhart Wycik at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar, Germany, he complemented his training with a Master's Degree in Musicology from the University of La Rioja. In 2022, he was admitted to the Forum Dirigieren of the German State Music Council.
