Alejandra Acuña


Alejandra Acuña, after completing her Master's degree in Music in Colombia, was awarded a scholarship to study at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid, where she obtained her diploma and her Master's Degree in Interpretation. Her great versatility, coupled with the dark timbre of her voice, has led her to sing under some of the most renowned conductors, such as Claudio Desderi, Juanjo Mena, Michal Znaniecki, Ross Marba and Placido Domingo.  

She has performed along with some the most notable figures on the current opera scene such as Eva Miei, Vittorio Prato, Carlo Lepore and Marianna Pizzolato.  

She has been distinguished for her warm and agile voice, together with her expressive capacity, and Alejandra has been awarded in different comeptitions, highlighting the Young Performers Award from the Luis Angel Arango Library and the Banco de la República and the consideration of Young Talent at the Cartagena International Music Festival, both in Colombia. The Prize of the XIV New Voices Contest, by the Hon. Seville City Council and the recognition of the most outstanding student of the "Alfredo Kraus" singing chair, at the Reina Sofía School of Music. Currently, she is part of the first generation of Young Crescendo of the Teatro Real.
