Rolanda Ginkute


Lithuanian violinist Rolanda Ginkute began playing the violin at the age of 5. In 2010 she entered the Cologne School of Music and Dance (Germany), where she perfected her musical studies as a violinist under the supervision of her great discoverer, Professor Zakhar Bron. In 2015, she received a scholarship from the Reina Sofía School of Music, where she completed her advanced violin studies in 2018 and obtained her Master's degree in 2021.  

She has won numerous prizes in national and international competitions, like the "Queen Marta" prize in Lithuania and has received a scholarship from the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation. In 2018 she received from the hands of Her Majesty Queen Sofia a diploma as the most outstanding student of the Reina Sofía School of Music.   

She has performed at numerous festivals and has given concerts in most European countries, including her debut as soloist at the Berliner Philharmonie, Kölner Philharmonie, Auditorio Nacional de Música, Teatro Monumental, Palau de la Música Catalana, De Doelen in Rotterdam and Kursaal Interlaken in Switzerland among others. He has given recitals in Switzerland, Germany, Spain and Lithuania, many of them being recorded by the Lithuanian national radio and television and Spanish national radio.  

As a soloist, he has collaborated with numerous orchestras, such as Orquesta RTVE, Oviedo Filharmonia, Orquesta Sinfónica de Extremadura, Franz Schubert Filharmonia or the "Moscow Virtuosi" Chamber Orchestra, among others.  

Together with the pianist Vadim Gladkov he has recorded in 2022 a CD for the Spanish National Radio.  

During the 2018-2020 season she was a regular member and concertmaster of the ADDA Symphony Orchestra. Currently she is a teacher of the National Orchestra of Spain, second violin soloist of Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and guest concertmaster of many Spanish orchestras.
