Teodora Oprisor

Romanian pianist Teodora Oprisor specialises in collaborating with singers. Passionate about the Lied repertoire, she has performed at venues and festivals such as Wigmore Hall in London, Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin, the LIFE Victoria Festival in Barcelona and the Musikverein in Vienna. Her performances with various singers and instrumentalists have been broadcast by BBC4, Deutschlandfunk Kultur, Romanian National Television and Spanish Television.

She has received awards from the Lied Akademie Heidelberg, the Académie Orsay-Royaumont and the Yehudi Menuhin LIFE Music Now Foundation. In May 2023 she was awarded the Associateship of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) in recognition of her contribution to music.

After studying piano performance with Szokolay Balázs at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar (Germany), she studied a Master's degree in Piano Accompaniment at the Royal Academy of Music in London under the tutelage of Professors Michael Dussek and James Baillieu. Back in Weimar, she furthered her studies with the Konzertexamen Liedgestaltung in the class of Prof. Thomas Steinhöfel, graduating with Distinction in 2020.

She currently lives in San Sebastian, where she is a pianist with the Orfeón Donostiarra. From 2021 to 2023 Teodora taught Lied Performance at her Alma Mater, the Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT in Weimar. From the 2024-25 academic year , she is Accompanying Pianist Professor at the Reina Sofía School of Music's ‘Alfredo Kraus’ Fundación Ramón Areces Voice Chair.
