Carlos Sanchis

The pianist Carlos Sanchis Aguirre has collaborated in recent years in the opera seasons of the Paris Opera, Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Teatro Villamarta in Jerez, Théatre de l'Athenée in Paris, Ópera de Dijon and Palau de les Arts in Valencia, working with conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Juanjo Mena, Diego Matheuz, Guillermo García Calvo and Jader Bignamini. He has worked with singers such as Anna Netrebko, Anna Pirozzi, Saioa Hernández, Ambrogio Maestri, Luis Cansino and Freddie de Tommaso. In the field of lied he forms a stable duo with the soprano Aida Gimeno, performing numerous concerts in Spain and France, including most notably at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona and the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid.
He has specialised in the world of opera and in collaboration with singers, being a member of the Paris Opera Academy, the Centre de Perfeccionament del Palau de les Arts in Valencia, the Georg Solti Accademia in Venice, and working as a Junior Fellow in piano accompaniment at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
He studied at the conservatories of Geneva and Zaragoza with Dominique Weber and Miguel Ángel Ortega Chavaldas, being granted a scholarship in 2017 by the Rotary Club of Madrid. In 2018 he also received a scholarship to join the Académie Musicale de Villecroze, France. Member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, the Nationaal Jeugdorkest (Holland) and the Spanish National Youth Orchestra, he also collaborates with the Asturias Symphony Orchestra, the Geneva Chamber Orchestra and the Paris Opera Orchestra.
Since the 2024-2025 academic year, he is Répétiteur Professor at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s "Zubin Mehta" Conducting Chair with Professor Nicolás Pasquet.
