Desislava Karamfilova


She was born in Bulgaria, where she began her musical studies at the age of 5. After finishing her Superior and Master's Degree at the Bulgarian National Academy "Pancho Vladigerov", she continued her education in Spain. In 2010 she was admitted to the International Institute of Chamber Music "Reina Sofia" in Madrid to study with the prestigious professor Gunter Pichler (member of the Alban Berg Quartet). For this purpose, she enjoyed a three-year scholarship from the Albéniz Foundation. During the period of her training, Desislava has participated in violin master classes of masters such as Gerard Poulet, Michael Frischenschlager, Erich Hoebarth, Donk-Suk Kang, A. Keller, Kevork Mardiroslan, Frederik Pellas, Takashi Shimizu, Alexander Vinnitzky, Gernot Winischhofer. 

She has performed at festivals such as: "Schubertiade-Schwarzenberg" (Austria), Ost-West Musikfest "Internationale Sommermeisterkurse" in St. Pölten (Austria), International Music Festival and Academy "Orpheus" in Vienna, International Summer Academy in Semmering (Austria). She has made recordings for Radio Nacional de España and Radio Nacional de Bulgaria. She has collaborated with prestigious orchestras such as the Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, Camerata Orphica.  
Orphica. She has toured internationally, performing in Japan, Argentina, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy among other countries.
