David Sánchez


He studied at the conservatories of Salamanca, Alcalá de Henares and the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid. He studied postgraduate studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Aragón, Master in Soloist Performance at the CSKG and artistic research studies in performance at the University of Aveiro. In 2007 he received a scholarship to attend the International Master Class for Saxophone in Laubach, Germany. He participates in several editions of the Université Européenne d'été pour le saxophone in Gap (France). He broadens his training with an intense attendance to classes with saxophonists J. M. Londeix, Arno Bornkamp, Claude Delangle, Vincent David, J. D. Michat, Christian Wirth, J. Yves Fourmeau, etc.  


He debuted as a soloist at the Teatro Cervantes, with A. Glazounov's Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra. He has performed with ensembles such as the Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid or the InterSchool Orchestra of New York, in the main national halls such as the Auditorio Nacional, Teatro de la Zarzuela, Círculo de Bellas Artes, Auditorio Cibeles, Teatro Cervantes, Auditorio de León; and in cities such as New York, Paris, Bordeaux, Salzburg, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Frankfurt, etc. He receives recognition from jury and public with awards such as Vítor Santos International Saxophone Competition in Palmela (Portugal), the Corazón de La Mancha Award for Artistic Career in 2012 or the selection as the best chamber music performance of the RCSMM in 2007. He has made recordings for Radio Clásica, EuroRadio, Televisión Española and the Antonio Gala Foundation, among others.
