SCHUMANN, Robert
String quartet in A major op 41 no. 3
I. Andante espressivo - Allegro molto moderato
Valentin Erben, guest Professor
Cuarteto Albéniz de Prosegur
Alma Olite, violin
Nelly Karina Guevara Chacón, violin
Hindenburg Leka, viola
Pablo Ferrández Castro, cello
In some ways, the character of this movement is a bit schizophrenic, and this anxiety must be noted in the cello syncopations. The syncopations must be felt, it is not necessary to count the pulses, and they compare different ways of phrasing them. Erben comments the way of playing certain chords for the pianists, who do not play them quite vertical to make the sound more fluid, and the same should be in certain passages of the quartet. The violin II needs more definition in the left hand. Professor Erben talks a lot about expression and considers that all the elements must be done in a natural, organic way, which are inherent in music.
