Professor Grist really liked the student’s voice, but she mentions that she has a tendency to push it back all the time, and that is not correct. She also corrects the pronunciation and placement in the mouth of certain vowels and proposes some vocalizations to improve this.
Returning to the aria, the professor again corrects the placement of the voice in some vowels so that the student sings them more appropriately. Then she makes some indication of phrasing and tuning, and mentions what the tempo and agogic should be at certain moments. In the final phrase, Reri Grist suggests that she be more energetic in the word “amar” and then leave it as if floating in the air. The word “felicitá” should also be more allargando, as if describing this word.
