The Société Générale Historical Performance Programme seeks to expose the students of the Reina Sofía School of Music to the various interpretive traditions that exist from the Renaissance (through the Baroque) up to Classicism, through the study of their stylistic characteristics, their repertoire, the history and evolution of the instruments, etc. These aspects will help students integrate into their performance the knowledge and practices that until recently were exclusive to specialists and are now increasingly necessary in the current musical profession.
The Programme is lead by Paul Goodwin, a renowned English conductor, current director of the Carmel Bach Festival in California and with a great dedication to educational projects.
