Born in Ormskirk (United Kingdom), in 1995. Rees is a freelance oboist based between the UK and Germany, where he studies with Tom Owen in Cologne. He has performed with orchestras including the LSO and Britten Sinfonia as Principal Oboe and has given recitals in venues such as Milton Court Concert Hall and Wigmore Hall. In 2019, he was a Junior Fellow of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he completed his Masters in 2018, awarded with Concert Recital Diploma (Premier Prix). Rees loves music festivals such as the Encuentro de Santander and also attends the Buxton International Festival and the St Endellion Easter Festival in the UK. He is generously supported by the Hattori Foundation.
