Pedro López Salas

Born in Albacete, Spain, in 1997. Since 2024, he studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music's Fundación Banco Santander Piano Chair with professor Stanislav Ioudenitch. He has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albéniz.

He studied his Artist Diploma with professor Vanessa Latarche at the Royal College of Music in London, where he received a full scholarship, and where he also studied with Dmitri Alexeev and Norma Fisher, completing his Master's Degree in Music in Performance with honours, obtaining the title of Steinway Scholar and Leverhulme Honorary Arts Scholarships. He is a member of the Keyboard Trust and Talent Unlimited in the United Kingdom.

Winner of many awards, including the second prize at the ‘Paderewski International Piano Competition’ in Bydgoszcz (Poland); first prize at the CIPCE International Piano Competition ‘Compositores de España’ (Las Rozas, Madrid); second prize at the International Piano Competition of Ferrol; 'Rosa Sabater' Award at the International Piano Competition “Premio Jaen”; first prizes at the Malta International Piano Competition; “Joan Chisell” Schumann Award at the RCM (London); first prize “César Franck” (Brussels); First Prize at the “Ciudad de Albacete” National Piano Competition.

Praised by the critics as one of the most promising young pianists internationally, he has given recitals all over Europe and performed as a soloist with great orchestras, such as the OH! orchestra at the ‘Chopin and his Europe’ festival in Warsaw, the ‘ Symphony Orchestra of Galicia’, the ‘Symphony Orchestra of Castilla y León’, the ‘Orchestra of Valencia’, the ‘Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville’, or with the ‘Pomeranian Hall Symphony Orchestra’ in Poland.

As a student of the School, he is part of the Gershwin Duo and of the Clara Wieck Quintet.
