Born in Russia in 1992, the young bass-baritone Oleg Volkov was a member of the Opéra Studio of the Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg from 2021 to 2023. Awarded by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and currently an artist in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, Oleg is focused in preparing roles under teachers Jose van Dam, Sophie Koch and Stéphane Degout. In the 24/25 season, he will sing at the Philharmonie de Paris (Marquis d’Obigny, la Traviata), the Opéra de Nice (Bohuslav Martinu’s opera Juliette), the Théâtre des Champs Elysées (Dulcamara, l’elisir d’amore), and La Monnaie de Munt in Brussels (Charles Bovary's role in a new opera Bovary by Harold Noben to be premiered in April 2025).
