Jun Yong Liu

Born in China in 2002. Since 2024, she studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music's Telefónica Violín Chair with professor Christoph Poppen. She has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albéniz.

This American violinist studied her Bachelor's Degree at Shepherd Music School in Rice University in Houston, United States, with professor Paul Kantor.

She has received recognition in several competitions, including the 2019 Pacific Music Society Competition, the 2018 ASTA San Francisco Solo Competition, and was a semi-finalist in the 2019 Mondavi Competition. She has also participated in summer festivals, including the Meadowmount School of Music, Dorothy Richard Starling Foundation Scholarship, Madeline Island Chamber Music Scholarship Program, Amelia Island Chamber Scholarship, and Domaine Forget Violin Academy.

As a chamber musician, she received the bronze medal at the 2019 Junior Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and was featured on NPR's From the Top in 2018 with her quartet. She also collaborated with the St. Lawrence String Quartet in the Sundays@4 concert series and participated in San Francisco Performances alongside the Alexander String Quartet.

As a student of the School, she is part of the Stoneshield Quartet and the Fundación Mutua Madrileña Ensemble.
