Juan Carlos Paredes Gutiérrez

Born in Los Montesinos, Spain, in 2006. Since 2024, he studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music's Bassoon Chair with professor Gustavo Núñez. He has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albéniz.

He began his musical education in his home town at the age of seven with professor Daniel Meseguer. After completing his elementary education, he entered the Professional Conservatory of Musica at the age of eleven, where he continued until he completed his professional training.

At the same time the conservatory, he has worked for years with the maestro Alberto Velasco; he has also attended masters classes with professors such as Higinio Arrué, Pierre Martens, Jesús Viedma and Santiago Ríos, among others.

He has collaborated with several orchestras including the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Torrevieja, the "Ciudad de Murcia" Youth Orchestra, and the Youth Orchestra of Alicante, with which he performed at the Musikverein's Golden Hall in Vienna. He performed as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena, in 2023.

Likewise, he has participated in several competitions, having obtained the first prize in the ‘Baix Vinalopó’ Regional Performance Competition 2019; the ‘Villa de Castellnovo’ Young Performers Competition, in 2021 and 2023, and the ‘Between Strings and Brass’ Competition 2023.

As a student of the School, he is currently part of the Ricercata de EY Quintet.
