Jorge López Cogollos

Jorge López Cogollos

Born in Granada, Spain, in 2007. Since 2024, he studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music's Bassoon Chair with professor Gustavo Núñez. He has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albéniz.

He started studying bassoon at the age of 7 with Professor Albert Sunyer at the "Francisco Guerrero" Professional Music Conservatory in Seville, where he graduated with the highest honors and was awarded the End-of-Degree prize. Currently, he is also studying at the Barenboim-Said Foundation's Academy of Orchestral Studies with professors Mor Biron and Francisco Cerpa. In addition to his formal studies, he was a student of Javier Aragó. He has received master classes from Luis Castillo, Ramiro García, Rosario Martínez, Manuel Angulo and Beatriz Bueno, among others.

In the field of chamber music, he has won important awards in several competitions between 2017 and 2020.

He has been a member of the European Young Orchestra Academy 2024 and was a reserve member of the Concertgebouworkest Young 23. He has also been a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Seville, the Symphony Orchestra Filarmonia of Seville, with which he has performed in important concert halls such as the National Auditorium of Spain. He has taken part in several symphonic programmes in Portugal within the framework of the Erasmus 2023 Plan.

As a student of the School, he is part of the Cassadó and the Cosan ensembles.
