Joana Revez Mendonça

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2000. Joana started her violin studies in in her hometown. Currently pursuing a master's degree in viola at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, she previously completed bachelor's degrees in violin with Yuzuko Horigome and in viola with Paul de Clerck. She has participated in festivals and exchanges across Europe and in Japan. As a founding member and violist of the Nereus Quartet, Joana is pursuing a Master’s in Chamber Music in Cologne, in the class of Anthony Spiri and David Quiggle. She regularly performs with the Brussels Philharmonic, Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and Portuguese Chamber Orchestra, and she is a member of Young Belgian Strings. Notably, she has worked with Gustavo Dudamel in the Orquesta del Encuentro in Spain.
