Encounter of Santander
Born in Berlin, Germany, in 2000. Raised in Belgium, Dorothea Delbrück began playing the oboe at the age of 11. Turning 16, she was accepted as a young student into Sylvain Cremers' class at the Institut supérieur royal de musique et pedagogie de Namur, Belgium, where she also completed her Bachelor of Music in 2020. Since then, she has been studying under Juliana Koch, Olivier Stankiewicz, Fabien Thouand, and Emanuel Abbühl at the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London and the Musikhochschule Mannheim. As Peter and Sheila Bennet’s scholar at the RCM, she also received both a Postgraduate Award from HelpMusicians UK and funding from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust. Simultaneously, she is substitute musician with the Milan Symphony Orchestra and the current oboe academist at the Duale Orchesterakademie Thüringen.
