David Martínez González

David Martínez González

Born in Valencia, Spain, in 2007. Since 2024, he studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music's Telefónica Violin Chair with Christoph Poppen. He has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albéniz.

During his training, he has studied with Gjorgi Dimcevski and Raúl Arias, among others, and has attended courses and masterclasses by Sergey Khachatryan, Pilar Marín, Tatiana Liberova, Aylen Pritchin, Snezana Kis, Kamran Omarli, Ioana Cristina Goicea.

He won the second prize in the third category at the "8th Leonid Kogan International Competition" in Brussels in 2024, the first award at the Fest Clásico Ribeira Sacra, "Alexey Gorohov" International Piano Competition and the second edition of the "Asociación Musical Boheme" Soloists Competition, in 2023. Previously the was awarded at the "Ciutat de Manises" Chamber Music International Competition and at the "Ciudad de Vigo" String Competition. Additionally, he received the second award at the Professional Intercentros Melómano Competition 2023, at the London Classic Music Competition 2022, and the "Ciudad de Estepona" Competition 2020, apart from being finalist at the Grumiaux Young Violinists International Competition in Brussels, 2020.

As a student of the School, he is part of the Asisa Óscar Esplá Quartet.
