Àngel Joan Arévalo Salas

Born in Tarragona, Spain, in 1999. During the academic year 2022-2023, he studied at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s “Alfredo Kraus” Fundación Areces Voice Chair with professor Susan Bullock CBE.

He began his classical guitar music studies in Barcelona until completing his Bachelor's degree with Alexandre Garrobé. As singer he has studied with Cecilia Aymí, Anna Maria Ollet, Montserrat Bella, Mireia Pintó and Salvador Parrón. Later, he attended singing masterclasses by Marta Mathéu, Alejandro Roy, Ricardo Tamura, Lorraine DiSimone, David Wakeham, Àngel Òdena, Josep Bros, and Adrian Thompson.

In 2022, as solo singer, he performed the role of Barigoule in Cedrillon within the production organised by Barcelona's ESMUC.

He has been awarded a prize at the Diputación de Tarragona’s 18th International Music Festival, the BBVA Music Award Junior Category, and in four editions of the Ópera workshop organised by the Tarragona Conservatory. He was also finalist at the 24th Mirna Lacambra Competition, for the role of Tamino in the Magic Flute, and was awarded the Zenaida Piontkovsky Memorial Scholarship to sing in the role of Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi in the 2022 summer in Berlin, under the baton of Carlos Spierer.

As a student of the School, he performed within the Soloists of the 21st century series.
