Amalia Bosch Fernández

Born in Sevilla, Spain, in 2007. Since 2024, she studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music's Fundación BBVA Viola Chair with professor Diemut Poppen. She has been granted a scholarship by Fundación Albéniz.

She began her viola studies at the age of 8, with Esperanza Mohedo, at the Conservatorio Profesional Cristóbal de Morales in Seville and continued them with Amaia Salvatierra, Antonio Peinado, and Álvaro Arrans. She has also regularly received lessons from Jerome Ireland. She has participated in different summer courses with teachers Tomoko Akasaka, Joan Puchades, or Ewelina Bielarczyk.

She has been a member of several chamber ensembles, including the Seville Chamber Orchestra and the Youth Baroque Orchestra of Seville, with which she has been first viola since 2021 and with which she made her debut as a soloist playing Telemann's Viola Concerto in the Turina Auditorium under the baton of Valentín Sánchez Venzalá. Since 2023 she has been a member of the Youth Orchestra of Andalucía.

As a student of the Barenboim Said Foundation she studied with Joaquín Riquelme and Jonathan Brown.

In 2024 she won the First Prize and Audience Prize at the Fest Clásico Ribeira Sacra.

As a student of the School, she is part of the Fundación Mutua Madrileña Ensemble and of the Victoria Trio.
