Encounter of Santander
Born in L’Eliana, Spain, in 2009. Since 2023, he studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Aline Foriel-Destezet Cello Chair with professor Ivan Monighetti. He has been granted scholarships by AIE-Sociedad de Artistas, Intérpretes and Fundación Albéniz.
He began his cello studies at the age of 6. Later, he continued his training at the José Iturbi Conservatory in Valencia with Elena Solanes, furthering his learning with Aranza López and Fernando Arias. He has attended masterclasses by Alfredo Guerrero, J. Enrique Bouché, Iván Balaguer, Aldo Mata, David Apellániz, Beatriz Blanco, Xavier Gagnepain, and Henrik Brendstrup.
He was finalist and was awarded the public special prize of the City of Estepona Young Performers Competition 2023, and he has also received the first award at the 2nd Young Performers Competition of the Valencia International Music Festival 2021, the 4th Soncello Competition 2021 in La Coruña, 10th Jaime Dobato Benavente Competition 2019 in Alcañiz, and the Estudio21 Chamber Groups Competition 2017 in Valencia, in which he participated in a duo violin-cello with his brother. Additionally, he has performed as a soloist with an orchestra on several occasions.
As a student of the School, he is part of the Google Da Vinci Duo and the Fundación Mutua Madrileña Ensemble.
