Franziska Weber

Born in Salzburg, Austria, in 1995, mezzosoprano Franziska Weber studied at the University Mozarteum Salzburg with Ildikó Raimondi, followed by master’s degrees at August Everding Academy and Music University of Munich with Christiane Iven, Okka von der Damerau, and Talia Or. She sang a Lehrbube in Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg at La Scala. Recent roles include Hermia in Britten’s A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hänsel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, Sesto in Handel’s Giulio Cesare, and Annina/Flora in Verdi’s La Traviata. She was awarded the “Price for Best Interpretation” at Festival Oder-Spree 2019 and the Second Prize in the “Verfemte Musik” Competition in Schwerin 2020. She recently made her debut at the state theater of Augsburg in the premiere of Labyrinth by Hauke Berheide.
