2005 Edition

The objective of the Encounter is to assemble in Santander, during the month of July, young artists from the most prestigious European schools and academies as well as a group of professors of international renown.

It is our aim to combine both an educational environment with an artistic activity with the stage being an extension of the classroom.

During the three weeks of the Encounter orchestral and chamber music activities are combined with instrument master classes. The following professors will teach violin, viola, violoncello, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, piano, voice, string quartet and orchestra.

At the beginning of July, a Simphonic Orchestra is reunited from the young soloists of the Festival.

The Chamber Music

The Orchestra starts the rehearsals early in the musical programme and offers many concerts along the Encuentro, directed by Vladimir Ashkenazy.
The groups to be formed during the Encounter will try to achieve the greatest possible variety of instrumental formations.
