1. What does the organization cover in terms of transport and accommodation?

  • The organization will book a flight or train for EU-based participants from their city of origin to Bilbao or Santander. Upon arrival, a vehicle will transport them to Santander.
  • Non-EU participants will receive a travel grant of up to €500, paid upon arrival in Santander.
  • All participants will stay at MICAMPUS LIVING SANTANDER student residence in private rooms.
    • Facilities: Leisure areas, gym, cafeteria, laundry room. All rooms are equipped with a private bathroom and a kitchen.
  • Internal transportation will be provided for scheduled activities in Santander and the Cantabria region using shuttles or organization vehicles.

2. Will I receive financial support during my stay?

  • Yes, each participant will receive a daily allowance of €30 for the duration of the Encuentro.
  • The allowance will be paid via bank transfer during your stay. We recommend bringing some cash for the first days and ensuring your credit card is active for withdrawals.

3. How are classes, rehearsals, and concerts organized?

  • Scheduling for classes, rehearsals, and concerts will be managed through the ASIMUT platform, accessible before your arrival.
  • You will receive lessons from the faculty and participate in chamber music and orchestra projects.
    • Instrumental participants: Perform in 6-7 concerts (orchestra, chamber music, and recitals).
    • Singers: Participate in 3 concerts (recitals and vocal gala).
  • Most academic activities (masterclasses, individual, and chamber music) will take place at the Conservatorio Jesús de Monasterio.

4. Do I have to pay tuition if selected?

  • No, participation is completely free. However, a €150 deposit is required upon registration, refundable at the end of your stay unless you cancel or withdraw before completing the program.

5. Where will the concerts take place?

  • Concerts will be held at the Palacio de Festivales de Santander and other iconic locations across Cantabria, such as churches and cultural centers.

6. What repertoire should I prepare?

  • Upon registration, you will be asked to submit a list of your repertoire and musical preferences. While we will strive to accommodate your choices, you will also be assigned other chamber music and orchestral works as needed to meet the artistic requirements of the Encuentro.

7. Do I need to be present for the entire festival?

  • String and wind players: Attendance is required for the entire Encuentro.
  • Pianists and singers: Arrival and departure dates will be confirmed individually based on the final schedule.

8. Will health insurance be provided during my stay?

  • International participants will be covered by health insurance during their stay in Santander.
  • If you are an EU citizen, it is recommended to bring your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) as an additional precaution.

9. What attire should I wear?

  • Participants will perform in several concerts and should bring appropriate attire for each event:
    • For orchestra:
      • Men: Black suit, white shirt, black bow tie, black socks, and black shoes.
      • Women: Black dress or suit.
    • For chamber music:
      • Men: Black shirt, dark trousers, black socks, and black shoes.
      • Women: Black dress or black shirt with dark trousers/skirt and black shoes.
  • The weather in Santander can be unpredictable! We recommend bringing clothing suitable for sunny beach days as well as rainy weather.

10. How will I receive the sheet music?

  • The organization will provide access to the sheet music once the repertoire is confirmed.
