This concert features the Sinfonietta of the Reina Sofía School of Music, whose goal is to play repertoires centred on the 20th and 21st centuries, in an effort to disseminate contemporary music.
Organised by the Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical, in collaboration with the Museo Nacional y Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, the concert will be conducted by maestro Zsolt Nagy.
The programme consists of the works Aurora, by the recently deceased Péter Eötvös, with double bassist Matthew McDonald as soloist; Robert Gerhard's Concertino in atonal language; the world premiere of Written in Blue, composed by Fabián Panisello for the project "Music for a school" of the Reina Sofía School of Music and with trumpeter Manuel Blanco as soloist and the Corale (his Sequenza VIII) for solo violin by Luciano Berio, with Sara Zeneli as soloist.
Free admission until full capacity is reached. Ticket collection on the day of the concert from 19:00h at the entrance to the auditorium.
The Reina Sofía School of Music dedicates this concert to the memory of Maestro Péter Eötvös, advisor of the Sinfonietta since its creation.
